Revolving fund to be instituted before journalist Sing’s name

Janakpur sub-metropolis is set to institute a revolving fund in memory of slain journalist Uma Singh.

At a programme organized by Visit Madhesh in Janakpur on Sunday, Janakpur mayor Lal Kishor Saha announced the local government’s contribution of Rs 500,000 to the fund.

Informing that a revolving fund will be set up in memory of courageous journalist Singh, he said those practicing free and fair journalism would be honoured in coming days as well.

Singh, who was serving the Janakpur-based radio Today, was murdered some 11 years ago.
