Sudurpaschim to provide relief packages to the impoverished

The government of Sudurpaschim State has decided to provide Rs 3,000 to each to families coming from the impoverished community or daily wagers who are hardest hit due to the lockdown.

Spokesperson of the Sudurpaschim government and Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Prakash Bahadur Shah shared that the meeting of the Council of Ministers today decided to provide Rs 160 million to all the local units in the State. In addition to that, the meeting also decided to provide all the District Administration Offices in the State Rs 500,000 each for the management expenses at the time of nation-wide lockdown enforced since March 24 to contain the spread of COVID-19.

The Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force would receive Rs 1.5 million each for the same.

Also, the meeting extended the deadline to submit fee, tax etc in the consolidated fund of the State and purchase 20 sets of ventilators for the district hospitals in the State.

Likewise, the state government decided to add additional Rs 1.5 million on the existing Rs 2.5 million pledged by the federal government as an insurance coverage for the security personnel and health workers during this pandemic.

Similarly, the media persons who are also discharging their duties at the time of health crisis have been brought under the ambit of Rs 1.5 million of insurance scheme.

The meeting also approved the guidelines made for the relief package distribution during the lockdown.
