NCP in Panchthar directs for one-door relief distribution

(Rabindra Kafle)

The Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Panchthar has directed party committees under its subordination and people’s representatives from the party to distribute relief assistance to the needy ones during the crisis caused by the coronavirus through a one-door policy. Meeting minimum criteria set by the federal government is imperative while distributing relief materials, it stressed.

Besides, relief providers have been urged not to take any photos of the distribution and receivers.

NCP Panchthar In-charge and State 1 Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, Indra Bahadur Aangbo, said the party has asked them to provide relief assistance only to those identified by the local levels as ‘lockdown affected’.

Only Phidim municipality and Yaangwarak rural municipality in the districts are learnt to have started ensuring relief to those affected by lockdown against COVID-19. At some levels, it is taking place through individual level and institutional levels just for rituals, it is said.

”Relief distribution during the crisis is the responsibility of the party and people’s representatives and it is not the matter of propaganda. We have directed them not to take unnecessary photos of relief distribution and posting photos on social sites,’ Aangbo said.
