CM Pokhrel holds video conference about initiatives taken to prevent COVID-19

Chief Minister of State-5, Shankar Pokhrel, on Wednesday, held a video conference with chiefs of bordering five local levels about ongoing initiatives to prevent and control coronavirus.

The video conference was held with chairperson of Susta rural municipality ofNawalparai (West), Ram Prasad Pandey, chairperson of Bijaynagar rural municipality of Kapilvastu, Gopal Thapa, mayor of Krishnanagar municipality, Rajat Pratap Sah, chairperson of Samarimai rural municipality of Rupandehi, Jitendranath Sukla and chairperson of Gadawa rural municipality of Dang, Sahaj Raj Ahir. On the occasion, Chief Minister Pokhrel inquired about ongoing initiatives that the respective local governments are taking to prevent and control coronavirus.

Discussion was held regarding the activities being carried out by three-tier government to prevent and control coronavirus and further plans for the same. The chiefs of the local levels briefed about the activities carried out so far and added that arrangement has been made to collect details about the people who came from abroad including India, quarantine construction and to keep them in quarantine.

Saying they have started distributing relief materials by collecting details of labourers, they drew attention of the Chief Minister to make arrangement of necessary health equipment, said Chief Minister Pokhrel’s Press Advisor, Sher Bahadur KC.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Pokhrel urged the chiefs to move ahead by setting up relief fund in local-level and to provide relief materials to poor families. He said the state government has constructed corona hospital in Butwal and isolation centres in Bhairahawa, Khajura of Banke and Beljhundi of Dang.
