CCMC in 77 districts to control COVID-19

The Ministry of Health and Population has established COVID-19 crisis management centre (CCMC) in all 77 districts to prevent and control coronavirus. The information was shared at the regular press conference organised by the Ministry on Wednesday.

Under the CCMC, Armed Police Force hospital and Nepal Army hospital in Kathmandu are all set to receive COVID-19 patients for treatment, said the Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr Bikash Devkota.

The hospitals have more than 100 beds and intensive care units. Eight infected are currently under surveillance and regular treatment, he said. Furthermore, swabs of 2,366 suspected people have been tested while swabs of 180 suspected people have been collected in Kailali and Kanchanpur.

Likewise, swabs of 802 suspected people in Achham, Jumla and Surkhet districts have been collected and brought to Kathmandu, he said. Swab samples of 300 suspected people would be collected in Dipayal.

According to information shared at the press meet, 134 suspected people are currently in isolation while 8,580 have been quarantined. Concerns of 3,306 people relating to the infection have been addressed through toll free numbers set up by the government.

Eight hundred twenty nine suspected people have self-evaluated themselves through the Ministry’s website and its mobile apps. Of them, three have been put in red zone, he said.
