Govt. to buy health materials both from govt, private channels

For the prevention and control of COVID-19, the government has decided to procure medicines, health equipment and materials from both the government and private sector to meet the immediate demands.

The High Level Coordination Committee on Prevention and Control of COVID-19 headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Ishwar Pokhrel made it clear the medicines, equipment and health materials could be bought from government to government (G2G) model as well as from the private sector on competitive basis.

Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Narayan Prasad Bidari said that such a provision was arranged as per the public procurement process under the special circumstances during the time of crisis.

Likewise, the government has decided to revise the operations of quarantines and relief distributions by correcting the gaps.
