Bagmati State sets up COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee

A State COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee has been set up here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dormani Poudel.

The Office of the Chief Minister stated that the State Government has constituted the committee as per the guidelines of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers to systematise the tasks including the prevention, control and treatment of coronavirus and to work as an effective apparatus for the same.

The committee will extend cooperation, facilitate, maintain coordination and carry out supervision in the prevention, control and treatment of coronavirus. It will also assist in the smooth management of essential goods like medicines, medical equipment and accessories.

Likewise, the committee will manage and monitor the supply of essential goods and services, arrange for the required human resources, manage the isolation and ICU as per the hospitals’ standard, and set up and oversee the management of quarantines as per the set standard.

The members of the committee are the Social Development Minister; the Minister for Internal Affairs and Law; the Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning; the Chief Secretary; the chiefs in the state of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, the Armed Police Force and the National Investigation Department and Mayor of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City, Hari Bahadur Mahat.

Similarly, the Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment and the Secretary at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning, the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment and the Ministry of Social Development are the members of the committee. The Secretary at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers is the member-secretary of the committee.
