Karnali State expedites its steps against COVID-19

The Karnali State has decided to beef up the counter attempts to control the COVID-19.

A meeting of the Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi with other thematic ministers and secretaries held today reviewed the tasks done so far and make further effectives in the days to come.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Shahi directed the officials concerned to accord top priority for the control and counter response adding that resolution of the crisis created by the COVID-19 is the immediate agenda.

Directing the disaster management executive committee, monitoring committee, supplies committee and other agencies, Chief Minister Shahi asked them to be proactive to combat COVID-19.

Likewise, the meeting also decided to request to the federal government, private sector and external suppliers to supply the PPE and security materials for the health workers and medicines as well as adopt all best possible efforts.

For the financial management and mobilization needed for counter responses, Economic Affairs and Planning Minister Prakash Jwala is designated while Minister Bimala KC for the facilitation of quarantines in the state capital, districts and local levels.

Likewise, Social Development Minister Dala Rawal would coordinate for the treatments, human resource mobilization and keeping suspected persons in the isolations wards of state and district hospitals.

Furthermore, a help desk would be brought into operation from the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers and electronic means and social networking sites would be used to make coordination and disseminate information, Information Officer Keshav Upadhyaya of the Office said.
