Country in test: Home Minster Thapa

Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has said the security bodies’ role is more important in the present days of crisis resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. While giving direction to the newly promoted police officials- Additional Inspector General of Nepal Police (AIG)-on Thursday, Minister Thapa reminded their effective and efficient roles for the peace and security at present.

"Our country is undergoing a severe test; enforce the lockdown effectively; convince people that it is for their own health and safety," he said to the new AIGs. Three DIGs were promoted to the AIGs, to which, the Home Minister Thapa extended best wishes.

He also directed the police officials to behave politely with the people, take initiative to address people’s problem and increase market monitoring. They were also directed to monitor the activities of the health facilities.

Home Secretary Maheshwor Neupane also congratulated and extended best wishes to the AIGs.
