‘Awareness can get victory against COVID-19’

Chief Minister of State 5, Shankar Pokhrel, has said that victory against COVID-19 would be achieved through citizen’s awareness. Saying it was necessary to change our behavior and daily activities to fight against coronavirus, Chief Minister Pokharel has requested the state folks to follow the decisions taken by the government to cope with the disease and encourage others as well.

In an address to the people of the State on Wednesday, he shared information about the important activities carried out by the state government to prevent the spread of the COVID-19. Preparedness activities have been made effective to prevent the disease while mutual coordination among three tiers of government has been made to stem the spread of the disease, to create public awareness. He pointed out the need of meaningful support for the full implementation of the decisions taken by the government to control the possible risk.

Chief Minister Pokhrel appealed to all to follow the decision of lockdown announced from Tuesday to save the citizens from the pandemic. He also urged the concerned authorities to make arrangements of food stuffs and vegetables at the shops in local areas, to maintain social and personal distance to be safe from coronavirus infection and to take permission of local security bodies if anybody has to go out from their homes in any emergency case.

Sharing information that the state government has forwarded process for the construction of four corona special hospitals- in Butwal, Bhairahava, Benjhundi of Dang and Khajura of Banke, Chief Minister Pokhrel said arrangement has been made where every local level has to make 15-bed quarantines immediately to quarantine suspected COVID-19 patients. Necessary arrangements have been made to run medical shops, health services, drinking water services, garbage collection and supply and distribution of foodstuffs and vegetables, he added.
