NA prepares to fight COVID-19

In view of the possible outbreak of coronavirus pneumonia, the Nepali Army (NA) has started preparations for the control and risk reduction management of the deadly COVID-19.

In a statement today, the NA Public Relations and Information Directorate said that a mechanism has been developed to establish coordination with other government agencies. A lead team has been formed comprising the army doctors for the treatment if any case of the COVID-19 was reported.

Similarly, the NA has imparted theoretical and practical knowledge about the COVID-19 and to set up quarantine camp by conducting training programmes.

The participants of the training programmes were deployed in the concerned units for running awareness raising programmes and quarantine camps are being set up at the local levels, the NA said.

So far, the NA has prepared quarantines and isolation wards in all states while the medical staffers of the NA have been deployed in the health desks established by other government agencies in the borders.
