Committee formed to give suggestions in regard with Guthi

The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has formed a committee to give suggestions in regard with Guthis.

The committee has been formed under the convenorship of House of Representatives (HoR) member Jeevan Ram Shrestha, executing the March ministerial-level decision to this regard, the Ministry said.

The committee will sit for discussions and consult with stakeholders concerned to discuss how to deal with the issues concerning religious, cultural and traditional aspects of Guthi, and tenants and to give suggestions in regard with a land-related integrated bill the government is preparing to introduce by incorporating Guthi issues in the future.

The committee is assigned to submit its report within one month of its first meeting.
