Municipality asks federal govt to seal Gaddachauki border point

Amid the fear of Covid-19 outbreak, the Bhimduttanagar Municipality in Kanchanpur district has asked the federal government to close the Gaddachauki border point with India for some days.

An emergency meeting of 44th municipal executive council held Saturday took a decision to this effect against the backdrop of increased number of people returning home from the Gaddachauki border point.

The meeting also decided to shut down all offices within the municipality except the offices that provide high-essential services. The decision further includes requesting the state government to the establishment of a 50-bed isolation ward.

Earlier, the District Administration Office, Kanchanpur, decided to impose a ban on the human mobility from all border points except to Gaddachauki border point.
