Parliamentary Committee issues10-point directives to government
The Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee under the House of the Representatives has issued a 10-point directive to the government to be prevent possible infection of COVID-19.
Today’s meeting of the committee issued such directives including making arrangement of ICU and isolation ward at health institutions across the country as per the population density, providing medical equipment to test coronavirus and making arrangement to stock medicines.
Similarly, making ICU and isolation units to prevent coronavirus infection by maintaining necessary coordination among government, community and private hospitals, making arrangement to test COVID-19 infection and to carry out its treatment in all seven states are other directives.
The 10-point directive also includes to pay special attention on safety of doctors by increasing their morale to fight against COVID-19 by forming medical specialist group in very health institution.
The meeting also directed the government to launch public awareness programme immediately through media across the nation by soliciting management aspects of China in dealing with COVID-19.
The Committee also asked the Home and Industry and Commerce Ministries to stop black marketing of different goods including daily essentials.
Welcoming the unity of political parties during disaster, the committee asked the political parties to run campaigns through sister organisations up to ward levels of local levels to prevent possible infection of corornavirus.
Similarly, the 10-point directives also include to provide security to all citizens at prisons, orphanages and child homes.
Briefing about the 10-point directives, Committee President Krishna Bhakta Pokharel urged the media to disseminate and publish fact and truth-based news related to COVID-19.
During the meeting, lawmakers Subas Chandra Nembang, Dev Gurung, Bal Krishna Khand, Goma Devkota, among others suggested the government to make necessary arrangement to prevent spread of coronavirus and to take stern action against those involved in black marketing.
