‘Health help desk’ set up at Nepal-India border points of State-2

A ‘health help desk’ has been established at Nepal-India border points of State-2 in order to prevent spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

According to the State Health Directorate, the health help desk has been set up at Raxaul of Birgunj, Bairganiya of Rautahat, Sonbarsha of Sarlahi, Bhittamod and Matihani of Mahottari, Jatahi of Dhanusha, Madar and Thadi of Siraha and Kunauli and Chhinnamasta of Saptari, among other borders.

Similarly, arrangement of isolation ward has been made at Narayani Hospital, Birgunj Hospital, Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Hospital, Rajbiraj, National Medical College, Birgunj, Janaki Medical College, Janakpur and Provincial Hospital Janakpur.

Senior Public Health Officer at the Directorate, Dr BIjay Jha, said that decision has also been taken to set up health desk at Janaki temple, bus park and airport.

A committee comprising specialist doctors and representatives of state-level World Health Organisation, United Nations Population Fund and United Nations Children’s Fund has been formed to carry out monitoring in the state to prevent COVID-19 and for immediate help.
