Call to check black marketing

Former Industry Minister and Member of Parliament Mahesh Basnet has urged the local administration to check black marketing in the district. The urge was made in response to widespread public complaints about artificial shortage created by traders.

Speaking at the meeting called by the District Natural Disaster Management Committee on Tuesday, MP Basnet emphasized that all the four municipalities in the district should work on preparedness against the possible disaster. For this, all the local level units, health workers, media, security personnel and volunteers should contribute.

Bagmati State Assembly member Shashi Jung Thapa also stressed the need to check the misinformation being spread through social networking sites including facebook.

Nepal Red Cross Society, Bhaktapur Chair Manoj Thapa said the Red Cross has distributed 50,000 awareness generating leaflets to save people from risk of coronavirus infection.

On the occasion, Chief District Officer Humkala Pandey shared that a response plan would be developed and put into effect in the next three days.
