NA members draw government’s attention to current issues

Members of the National Assembly of the Federal Parliament have drawn the attention of ministers to a variety of current issues of the country. They demanded that problems facing landless squatters be solved at the earliest, complaining of the Landless Squatter Problem Resolution Commission failing to deliver effectively.

Speaking on the special hour at today’s NA meeting, Khimlal Bhattarai, who represents ruling Nepal Communist Party, claimed that socialism could not take place unless landless squatters’ problems are resolved.

Similarly, Jitendra Narayan Dev, who represents main opposition Nepali Congress, drew the attention of the parliament and the government to Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Sajha Party voicing against secularism and republic. He also complained about the Constitutional Council and the Council of Ministers failing to meet for months, people not feeling the presence of good governance and increasing corruption, inflation and black marketing.

Chakra Prasad Snehi demanded direct elected prime ministerial system and full proportional electoral system by amending the constitution while accusing the existing electoral system of assisting corruption. Similarly, Indu Kadariya called the attention of the parliament and the government to problems facing Nepali people along Nepal-India borders.

Bimala Ghimire called for tightening Tarai’s open borders with India to check coronavirus.

Likewise, Hariram Chaudhary demanded monitoring and a stern action against deforestation across the country.
