PM Oli addresses SAARC video conference

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has briefed the heads of states/heads of the governments from the SAARC countries about the measures adopted by Nepal against the spread of COVID-19.

The PM said so in a video conference of the heads of the states and heads of the governments organised today to chalk out a collective strategy against novel corona virus outbreak in the SAARC region.

PM Oli, who is also the chair of SAARC, in a video conference in Singha Durbar, shared that Nepal has extended the capacity of the hospitals while making preparations for isolation wards to avert the possible outbreak of the Covid-19 as well as postponed international seminars and programmes scheduled in Nepal.

PM Oli further said that the on arrival visas have been cancelled and different committees are in force in federal and local levels to adopt joint efforts to prevent its possible outbreak.

Prime Minister Oli argued that Nepal was alert not to let spread the corona virus.

He also thanked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking initiatives to conduct the ‘Video Conference on SAARC Leaders on Combating Corona Virus: Setting an Example for the World’.

On the occasion, PM Oli also thanked the SAARC leaders for their concerns on his health update.
