One killed in road accident

A person has died in a road accident that took place in Bhandara of Chitwan last night. The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Rajiv Thakur of Parwanipur municipality-2, Bara.

The incident took place when a passenger bus (state 1-01001 kha 3464) hit a scooter (state 3-02014 pa 1446). Thakur, who was pillion riding the scooter, was seriously injured in the accident and died in course of treatment at the Old medical college hospital in Chitwan.

The scooter rider Srisav Devkota,22, of Bharatpur municipality-10 was injured and is undergoing treatment at the same medical college hospital, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office Yek Narayan Koirala.

The bus driver has been taken into custody for necessary action.
