Continuous rain makes farmers happy

The repeated rainfall at this time of the year is making the farmers joyful, as it increases the prospect of rise in production. It rained thrice in the month of Fagun, alone.

Rainfall was recorded in all the winter months of Push, Magh and Fagun. This is expected to increase the yield of fruits like mangoes and litchi, sugarcane as well as vegetable crops. The wheat crop this year will certainly be very good, said farmer of Bardibas municipality-9, Mahendra Singh Kushahawa.

Frequent and sporadic rainfall will also help ward off diseases in the mangoes flowers and thereby lead to better and higher production, another farmer in ward no. 1 of Gaushala municipality, Shyam Shashanker said.

Meanwhile, rainfall on Friday has also cooled down the weather a bit. However, the roads have become muddy and the sewage and drainage clogged.
