Pariyar honoured with ‘YGL 2020 Award’

World Economic Forum has honoured a Nepali youth Pradeep Pariyar with the ‘Young Global Leaders-2020 Award’ for his notable contribution to youth empowerment and social justice promotion.

Founder of the Forum, Klaus Schwab, had established the award by constituting the Forum in 2004. The award was established with an objective of developing youth leadership capable to face increasing complexities and challenges in the world.

Pariyar is the solo Nepali candidate honoured from WGL award this year. Earlier in 2015, Nepali Congress leader Gagan Kumar Thapa was honoured with this award.

Pariyar is executive chairperson of Samata Foundation and has been working in national and international policy making related to youth, peace and social justice for more than 18 years.

Samata Foundation is leading organisation working to end racial discrimination and for promoting the rights of the marginalized community sector.
