Five-point understanding between federal and state ministries

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and agriculture ministry of state governments have signed a five-point agreement. The agreement was signed following a discussion held between the ministers of the federal government and state governments on Sunday and Monday.

Minister for Agriculture Development Ghanashyam Bhusal had organised a two-day meeting with ministers of all seven states to solicit their suggestions for long-term development in the agro sector.

The meeting reached a five-point understanding including taking decision on planning, budget and decision between federal and state government in coordinative way for agro development, making necessary collaboration in implementation of planning and programme of agro development and maintaining uniformity in service, facilities and mobilization of resources provided by the three-tier of governments for protection and development of agro sector.

On the occasion, Minister Bhusal said that the government has prepared a strategy to forward agro-based projects to make the country self-dependent on agro products.

Minister for Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives of State-1, Ram Rana, Shailendra Sah of state-2, Dawa Dorjee Lama of Bagmati state, Lekh Bahadur Thapa of Gandaki state, Arati Poudel of state-5, Binita Devi Chaudhary of Karnali state and Bimala KC of Sudur Paschim state were present on the occasion.
