Three killed in road accident

Two people travelling on a tempo have been killed after being hit by a tipper truck at Milan chowk in ward no. 19 of Biratnagar metropolis. The incident took place last night at around 9:30 pm when the tipper (Ko.1 Ka. 2917) hit the tempo coming from the opposite direct, according to District Police Office, Morang.

The deceased have been identified as the temp driver Baburam Sardar,45, of Gramthan rural municipality and his six-year-old granddaughter Arohi Sardar, chief of the office, Biswa Adhikari said. Following the incident, irate locals set the tipper on fire.

The tipper driver has been taken into custody for necessary action.

Meanwhile in Mahottari, a motorcycle rider was killed after being hit by a tipper (Na. 1 Ka. 5826) in Mangalbazaar of Pipara rural municipality-4. Kalicharan Yadav,35, a resident of Samsi rural municipality, Mahottari succumbed to his injuries at the local hospital this morning. The accident took place at 6:00 pm last evening.

The tipper and its driver have been taken into police custody for action as per the law, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhav Prasad Budathoki.
