Stress on continued collaboration in NA

Ruling and opposition party leaders in the National Assembly have stressed on continued collaboration between the two sides in the days to come. They praised the collaboration based on consensus and understanding between the ruling and opposition side in the NA for the past two years.

Speaking at the final day of one-third of the NA members of parliament, who were relieved of their office today, parliamentary party leader of the ruling NCP Dinanath Sharma said the major opposition played an important role in making the parliament successful, and hence a culture of cooperation was established.

Likewise, main opposition, NC leader Surendra Raj Pandey said the attitude towards the upper house has changed. Apart from some exceptions, the two year passed on consensus and collaboration, he said.

Rastriya Janata Party leader Brishesh Chandra Lal expressed the confidence that the NA would continue with the democratic culture in the days to come. For two years, there was no feeling of ruling and opposition side in the NA, he said.

Socialist Party leader Pramila Kumari said some bills were passed by suspending the related rule, which was a reason behind the dispute over Nepal Trust land. The NA should run on the basis of deeper consensus in the days to come.
