Preparations for PM’s renal transplant completed

The medical preparation for Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s renal transplant has been completed. The transplant is scheduled to take place at the TU Teaching hospital in Maharajgunj on Wednesday.
Administration of drugs essential for the transplant has been initiated today while experts carried out various medical tests and examination, says a statement issued by Executive Director of the hospital, Prof Dr Prem Krishna Khadka. Furthermore, the regular dialysis and lab tests carried out before the transplant are ongoing.
The Prime Minister’s health condition is stable and good, as he remains under regular observation of experts. The transplant will begin at around 9:00 am tomorrow. A medical team led by Dr Prem Raj Gyawali is all set for the transplant, the second one for the Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, the doctor who performed the first renal transplant on Prime Minister Oli has also been invited to join the team from Apollo Hospital in India. The first renal transplant of Prime Minister Oli was held in India some 12 years ago.
Prime Minister Oli was admitted to the hospital on Monday evening.
Meanwhile, NCP Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ visited the TUTH in Maharajgunj this evening and acquired about the health condition of Prime Minister Oli.
