Media to safeguard democracy: State Chief Adhikari

Chief of State-1 Somnath Adhikari ‘Pyasi’ has said that the media has served as the watchdog to safeguard democracy and human rights even in the adverse situation in the country.

While addressing an event organised to mark the silver jubilee of Purbanchal Daily on Sunday, State Chief Adhikari argued that the media was supporting the democracy in the party-less Panchyat era and is still acting as a watchdog.

He advised the media persons to be professional in disseminating news and managing the media houses for the success. On the occasion, State Chief Adhikari released a special issue of the daily on its silver jubilee celebration.
