All China returnees in quarantine have no coronavirus, no need to panic: Health Ministry

Nepalis evacuated from Huwei Province of China and kept at Kharipati-based quarantine are healthy and have no coronavirus, the Health Ministry said.

According to the Ministry, all Nepalis returned from China were tested negative, so none need to panic. Ministry Spokesperson Mahendra Prasad Shrestha said, "All Nepalis in quarantine of Nepal Electricity Authority, Kharipati were tested negative for novel coronavirus (COVID-2019).

A total of 175 Nepalis living in different cities including Wuhan of Huwei Province, China, for study and business were brought to Nepal three days back. They were taken to the Kharipati-based quarantine with primary test at Tribhuvan International Airport upon the arrival.

The returnees’ throat and nasal swab was tested at the National Public Health Laboratory, Teku, which did not show any symptom of the disease, Shrestha added.

On the fourteenth day in the quarantine, they would have their health checked again.
