President Bhandari commutes remaining sentence of 329 prisoners

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has granted sentence waiver to 329 prisoners serving sentence in various prisons across the country.

President Bhandari waived, on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, the remaining jail term of the inmates to be effective from February 19, according to a press statement released by Spokesperson of the Office of President-Shital Niwas, Hari Prasad Dahal.

The convicts doing time in prisons were granted amnesty in accordance with Article 276 of the Constitution and the Criminal Offence (Sentence Deduction) Regulations, 2076 BS.
