NA sends two bills to House panel for clause-wise deliberations

A meeting of National Assembly (NA) today decided to send the ‘ Corruption Prevention (First Amendment) Bill, 2076 BS’ and the ‘Yogamaya Ayurved University Bill, 2076 BS’ to the Legislation Management Committee for clause-wise deliberations.

Newly-appointed Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dr Shiva Maya Tumbahangphe presented the ‘Corruption Prevention Bill’ on behalf of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli while the ‘Yogamaya Ayurved University Bill’ was presented by Finance Minister Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada, proposing them to send to the respective committee for further procedures.

Similarly, NA secretary Rajendra Phuyal tabled the ‘Nuclear Bill, 2075 BS’ in the meeting.

In the beginning of the meeting, NA chair Ganesh Timilsina read out a letter informing the Upper House about the re-constitution of the Council of Ministers.

Annual reports of the Judicial Council and Judicial Service Commission of the fiscal year 2075-76 BS were presented in the meeting. Minister Tumbahangphe presented the documents on behalf of the Prime Minister.

The NA shall meet again at 1:00 pm of February 20.
