NC has no option but to improve: Senior leader Poudel

Senior leader of the Nepali Congress Ramchandra Poudel has said the NC has no option but to correct and improve itself. He stressed the need to change oneself before making the party a centre of public trust.

Senior leader Poudel said it while inaugurating Byas municipal committee of the NC on Friday. He admitted that NC was in need of restoring public trust on it. "Once the NC improves itself, it can fight against those destroying democracy," he observed.

According to him, time has come to launch ideological debate to make the politics respected. Only NC’s ideology will not ensure prosperity, he said, urging the cadres to be aware against the conspiracy that damages the image and character of the party and leaders.

He blamed the present government was trying to impose communist ideology in the State affairs. Poudel further accused the government of attempting to impose presidential system in the country.

On the occasion, central member of the party Shankar Bhandari expressed worry over party leadership deviating from its statute and norms. The intra-party fight was for the sake of personal benefit, which must come to an end, he stressed.

Another central member Govinda Bhattarai viewed it was time to protect constitution rather than indulging in intra-party conflict.
