Mahashivaratri to be celebrated in special manner

Preparations are on to celebrate Mahashivaratri in a special manner on the occasion of Visit Nepal Year 2020. Different organisations have started cleaning different places in Pashupati area at the request of the Pashupati Area Development Trust for the same.

Kailashdanda area has been cleaned up in this connection. Millions of domestic and foreign tourists visit Pashupatinath on the occasion of Shivaratri.

A 111-member main ceremony committee has been formed under chairmanship of Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai, also the chairperson of the Trust, to celebrate the Mahashivaratri this year.

A clean-up campaign is going to be lunched at surrounding areas of Pashupati every day before Mahashivaratri, said Member-Secretary of the Trust, Asha Pandey.

The Ministry has also given special direction to keep Pashupati area clean as publicity is on in foreign countries on the occasion of VNY-2020.

Mahashivaratri falls on February 21 this year.
