Saraswati demoted to B division

Saraswati Youth Club lost to Chyasal Youth Club today, which resulted in its demotion to the B division from A division of the Martyrs Memorial national league football.

In the match held today at the APF ground in Halchowk, Saraswati lost to Chyasal by 1 goal to 2 goals. Saraswati had to win today’s match to continue in the A division but failed to do so. It got demoted with one more game to play in the current league.

Saraswati Club will be the only club to be demoted this year, as All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) decided to demote only one among the 14 teams competing in the A division league. This is the second time Saraswati has been demoted to B division. Prior to this it was demoted to the B division, during its maiden entry to the A division in 2063 B.S.

Japanese recruits Taiga Nakamura and Hayato Wakino scored the two goals for Chyasal in the 18th and 16th minute today. Kajim Busari scored for Saraswati in the added time of the second half.

With the loss today, Saraswati is confined to 4 points from 12 games. It will now play its final match in the A division league this year against Sankata Club.

After defeating Saraswati club today, Chyasal climbed to the 9th position with a total of 15 points.
