Preparations ongoing to keep evacuated Nepalis in Kharipati

The administration has prohibited the entry of journalists at the building premises of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) at Kharipati where preparation for quarantines are ongoing to house the Nepalis to be evacuated from Wuhan of China.

Earlier on Monday, the media persons had reached the site for news reporting after the government’s preparations to keep the Nepalis evacuated from coronavirus-hit zone of China. But, the journalists were prevented from entering into the main gate of the office.

Likewise, the local residents have also asked the government to seek the alternative venues to Kharipati meant for keeping the evacuated Nepalis in isolation.

Superintendent of Police at Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur, Sabin Pradhan said that works to keep the Nepalis evacuated from Wuhan city of China are being done in a speedy manner and added that the journalists were prevented from entering into venue fearing hindrance to the construction works.

It is said that 124 evacuees would be kept in Kharipati while rest of the others would be housed in the Drinking Water Training Center Office at Nagarkot.
