Obstructing House against democratic norms: Spokesperson Shrestha

Nepal Communist Party’s spokesperson Narayankaji Shrestha has said that obstructing parliament by the Nepali Congress over the decision of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Lalita Niwas scandal was against democratic norms.

Speaking at a news conference organised at Gorkha district headquarters on Friday, leader Shrestha said that there would not be any interference of the government in any decision of the CIAA. He argued, "The NC should know that the CIAA does not work as per government’s direction."

The NCP spokesperson said that he was confident that the CIAA had taken the decision on Lalita Niwas scam without any prejudice. "The CIAA’s decision on Lalita Niwas scandal is its own decision", he said, adding that the government would not make any interference on constitutional bodies.

He stressed that the NC should support to make the investigation more investigative without doing any protest.
