Chief Minister of State -5 Shankar Pokharel has asserted that the State Assembly had institutionalized the culture of collaboration.
Addressing a programme organized to mark the establishment day of the State-5 here Tuesday, CM Pokharel said, "The role of State Assembly in our State is paramount to strengthen the governing system based on rule of law." Separation of power was exercised well with the federal set up in place, Pokharel shared that legislation and executive were working in tandem with the State. "We are exercising democracy and development in a unique manner," he added.
Also, speaking in the event, whip of Nepali Congress Nirmala Chhetri voiced her concern over the delay relating to the naming of the State and its capital. She said that her party, albeit in the opposition, was willing to collaborate the State government towards this end.
Similarly, Federal Socialist Party’s Santosh Pandey called for recommendations and cooperation from all quarters for the development of the State.
Although the special day for the State-5, the event saw the dismal participation of State Assembly members. The State Assembly a total of 86 members while majority of them was absent in the event.
During the event, cultural programmes as Tharu culture procession were held. On the occasion, former Secretary of the State-5 Surendra Aryal was honoured and Dr Man Bahadur BK and Prem Bhattarai awarded as the best employees.
