Nepal’s constitution progressive and inclusive: Japan

Japan’s Ambassador for Nepal Masamichi Saigo today called on Speaker of the House of Representatives Agni Prasad Sapkota and congratulated latter for his election on the post, wishing for a success of his tenure.

During the meeting took place at the Federal Parliament Secretariat-based Speaker’s Office, the Japanese Ambassador, on behalf of the people and government of Japan and the Japan’s Parliament Diet, extended best wishes to the Speaker who was elected to the post recently, for a successful term.

On the occasion, as shared by the Speaker’s Private Secretariat, the two exchanged views on vivid aspects concerning the bilateral relations and mutual interests between Nepal and Japan.

Japan is a valuable partner in Nepal’s economic development economic development and the area of its assistance primarily covers infrastructure development, technology handover and education.

The two also recalled the contribution of regular bilateral visits by parliamentary delegations in further consolidating the over six decade-long diplomatic relations between the two neighbours.

During the meeting, Speaker Sapkota thanked the Japan Government for its continued support to Nepal’s development endeavors

The ambassador remembering the Japanese parliamentary women delegates’ recent Nepal visit said he got the reaction that Nepal’s constitution was of an advanced level in terms of progression and inclusion.
