Five killed, two critically hurt in Sunsari road mishap

Five persons died and two were critically injured in a road accident that took place at Ramdhuni Municipality-2 in Sunsari district today, police said.

The deceased are Deepak Khadka, 28, of Baireni-2 in Dhading; Hemraj Koirala, 75, and his wife Dolmaya, 65, of Bhadrapur-8, in Jhapa; Garima Gautam, 17, of Bhaktapur and Tanka Prasad Kafle, 75, of Bhadrapur. Khadka was micro-bus driver.

Similarly, Hom Bahadur Darji and Sabitra Rai of Jhapa district have sustained deep injuries in the accident.

Garima and Tanka Prasad died while receiving treatment BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences while three others died on the spot, police said.

The accident occurred after a micro-bus (Ba 5 Kha 3157) heading towards Kathmandu from Chandragadhi and a bus (Na 6 Kha 795) en route to Kakadbhitta from Pokhara collided with each other.

Chief at the State Traffic Police Office in Itahari, Bhim Bahadur Dahal, said that 10 other minor injured are receiving treatment.
