Bagmati cleanup mega campaign completes 351st week

The Bagmati cleanup mega campaign completed its 351st week on Saturday in which hundreds of people took part like in the previous weeks to manage the wastes from the Bagmati river.

As per its part, six metric tonnes of garbage was managed from the Bagmati riverbank near Tripureshwor. Campaigner Kishorsingh Shahi said that 350 plus people including personnel of the security forces, and officials of the High Powered Committee for Integrated Development of Bagmati Civilization, Kathmandu Metropolitan City and more than a dozen social organizations took part in the cleanup move.

Shahi said that next week the officials of the Nepal Telecom would join the campaign on the occasion of the NT’s anniversary.

Likewise, the Bagmati river was cleaned up in Gothatar area in its 312nd week. More than 200 students of the Timeline School participated in the campaign.

In the valley, other rivers including Rudramati, Bishnumati, Manohara, Godabari, Tilganga, and northern and southern parts of the Ring Road were also cleaned up.
