Eight people die from winter health issues in two weeks in Humla

Eight people have died from various winter health ailments in over two weeks in three rural municipalities (Kharpunath, Sarkegad and Chankheli) in the district, said authorities.

The dead were suffering from asthma, pneumonia, cough and chest problems, said Gaja Bahadur Raut, ward chair of Sarkegadh rural municipality.

Meanwhile, snowfall since one month has thrown life out of gear. As a result, telephone and electricity services have come to a halt, while banking service has been affected, said Sabita Shahi, manager of Rastriya Banijya Bank, Humla.
