Capacity building training to control violence

In a bid to make the municipality human rights friendly with the control of violence, Gauriganga municipality in the district has conducted a capacity building training for the violence watch group. The group is a network effective across the municipality.

Human rights activist and advocate Chetraj Bhatta provided training on human rights, its implementation, fundamental rights guaranteed by the constitution, rights to the justice seekers, strategy of mediation, leadership development, pleading and violence against women.

Executive Director of the training proving organization, Umid Bagchand, informed that the training was given to the people associated to the group so that they would be capable to control and monitor various sorts of violence as violence against women in the society.

Gaurigunj municipality has aimed at making it human rights friendly in a year.

The participants were of the view that they became aware on the pertinent issues of human rights and the measures to adopt for reducing the violence in society.
