Govt committed to uplift economic status: Chief Minister Gurung

Chief Minister of Gandaki State and Standing Committee Member of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Prithvi Subba Gurung, has said that the NCP-led government was seriously working to uplift the economic status of poor people.

At a programme organized to handover the houses constructed for Bote community constructed under People’s Housing programme at Botegaun of Madhya Nepal Municipality-4 on Sunday, Chief Minister Gurung stated that the federal and state governments have been involved to ensure the fundamental rights to the people as mentioned in the constitution.

He stressed the need to modernize, mechanize and commercialize agriculture to uplift the income level of the poor people, adding that the federal and state governments are moving ahead for the same.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has been moving ahead in an initiative to make Gandaki state self-reliant on food within coming five years.

Fifty new houses, constructed by the Urban Development and Building Office, Gorkha, of Bote community were handed over on the occasion.
