Literature should reflect society’s reality: NCP leader Khanal

Former Prime Minister and senior leader of Nepal Communist Party Jhala Nath Khanal on Saturday said that literature should reflect reality of the society and pursue a transformative way.

"Now we are pursuing socialism to make the country prosperous. Literature should play a lead role in the development of the country by depicting social realities," he said while launching a novel entitled ‘Dilko Dob’ by Kranti Parajuli amid a function here.

Reviewing the book, writer Mahesh Poudel and academician Maya Thakuri said the creation has exposed violence against women using political power.

Similarly, journalist Yashoda Timsina said the book has supported rights of women.
