Minister Aryal bats for linking cooperatives with prosperity

Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has stressed the need to connect cooperative movement with the national campaign of prosperity.

Minister Aryal said this while inaugurating the 13th establishment day of Byas savings and credit cooperative based in Byas municipality-3, Tanahun on Wednesday.

She called for the cooperative organizations to concentrate their efforts to the national campaign of ‘Happy Nepali, Prosperous Nepal’.

The country is steering ahead to the path of prosperity after completing the movement of political change, she said, adding, "The future course should be socialism-oriented".

The economic activities should be augmented to pave the path for socialism, the minister noted, underlining the need of making cooperative transactions transparent.

Also speaking on the occasion, lawmakers Kedar Sigdel and Krishna Kumar Shrestha urged the cooperatives to spur investment in agriculture sector.

On the same occasion, Minister Aryal inaugurated the newly-constructed building of the cooperative. The building was constructed at the cost of Rs 7.86 million. The cooperative was established from 32 members in 2006 from.
