Rabi Lamichhane and two others get clean chit

The District Court Chitwan on Sunday gave a clean chit to three persons including television programme host Rabi Lamichhane over the suicide case of journalist Shalikram Pudasaini. The court gave the clean chit to Rabi Lamichhane, Yubraj Kandel and Asmita Karki aka Ruku over abetting suicide.

According to court’s registrar Rudramani Giri, a bench of Judge Hemanta Rawal issued the verdict stating that the claims made by the plaintiff were insufficient. Evidences to establish interconnectedness between the scene and defendants’ actions were not avail and the video footage cannot be accepted as the final truth and irreversible evidence," reads the verdict.

Likewise, the court has also directed to reimburse the collateral amount submitted by Lamicchane and Kandel once the timeline for appeal is over.
