Khagendra Thapa Magar no more

Khagendra Thapa Magar of Dhullubaskot in Baglung, who once set Guinness world record as the world’s shortest man, died on Friday afternoon in Pokhara.

Thapa breathed his last while receiving treatment at Pokhara-based Manipal Hospital, the doctors said. Suffering from respiratory related problems, he was admitted to the intensive care union (ICU) of Manipal Hospital on Thursday.

Chairman of Khagendra Thapa Magar Foundation Min Bahadur Rana Magar said that the doctors pronounced Khagendra’s demise at around 3:00 pm on Friday.

Khagendra’s Guinness world record as the shortest man was maintained for eight months, prior to Junrey Balawing. Likewise, Chandra Bahadur Dangi of Nepal had broken the record of Junrey as the world’s shortest man. However, the record is in the name of Junrey after the demise of Dangi.
