Capital city witnesses continuous rain for 24 hours

Kathmandu has received continuous rain for 24 hours till Friday evening. The rain started from Thursday evening has stopped occurring late this evening. With the active westerly low pressure system, the entire nation has received rain, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

The Division said that most of the parts in the country received slight to moderate rain and snowfall in the high hill and mountainous region.

As per the details from the Division, Kathmandu received 48 milimetre rain. Likewise, Birendranangar received 60 milimetre rainfall on Friday while 38 milimetre in Dhangadhi, 22 in Dadeldhura, 41 in Bhairahawa, 20 in Dang, 26 in Pokhara and 10 milimetre in Nepalgunj.

Similarly, the lowest temperature in Kathmandu was recorded 8.8 degree Celsius and 9.0 degree Celsius as the highest on Friday.

Meteorologist Sajina Shakya said that the weather will gradually improve from Saturday as the westerly low pressure system will be weaker till Friday night.
