Karnali Development Council meeting on Jan 24

The Karnali State Development Council is holding its maiden meeting this January 24 to solicit suggestions for the State’s development and prosperity. Chief Minister of the Karnali State government Mahendra Bahadur Shahi will chair the meeting.

Spokesperson for the Karnali State Planning Commission, Sudish Kumar Aryal said the main objective of the meeting is to seek suggestions and guidelines from the Council members on the entire gamut of development and prosperity of Karnali State. According to him, the first meeting of the Council will hold discussions on the State’s First Periodic Plan as well.

Aryal said the Council meeting will help in implementation of development plans and thereby achieving the policy and target set by the State government as well as make the coordination between the local level and the State government effective.

Member of the State Planning Commission, Dr Dipendra Rokaya the Council will also deliberate on the Approach Paper of the Five Year Plan.

Council’s co-chair and minister for economic affairs and planning, Prakash Jwala, the departmental ministers, the vice-chair of the Karnali State Planning Commission, the parliamentary party leaders in the State Assembly, the presidents of the State Assembly committees and the chiefs of the local levels and government secretaries will participate in the meeting.
