National yoga day to be marked on Jan 15

Government has decided to celebrate national Yoga Day on 1st Magh (January 15) this year. Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) has determined ‘National Unity: Relevance of Yoga’ as the slogan for this year’s celebration.

A Main Organizing Committee has been formed in coordination of Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel.

The national day will be marked organizing various programmes for a week. Secretary at the Education Ministry, Krishna Prasad Kapri in a press meet at the Ministry today shared that the programme is being organized for past few years to develop Nepal as the fertile land of yoga. He added that the Ministry was developing school curriculum incorporating yoga.
