National Horse Riding Competition concludes

The 6th national horse riding competition has concluded. In the event held at Tundikhel in the capital, Khildwoj Khadka came first in high-jump while Ram Bahadur Dahal and Sabin Kumar Pokharel came second and third respectively.

Likewise, in the show-jump category, Yog Bahadur Basnet came first, Lal Bahadur Kunwar second and Ram Bahadur Dahal third. They received a cash prize of Rs. 20,000, Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively.

In the exhibition category, the women riders were provided a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 each as encouragement award. Hari Maya Gurung, Sharada KM, Kabita Thapa and Sarita Shrestha got the award.

A total of 26 riders had competed in the event held in support with Nepali Army and National Sports Council, according to the organizing committee chair Rabi Rajkarnikar. The event was organized to promote the sport of horse riding and racing among the general population.

Chief of the Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa gave away prizes and certificates to the winners.
