Girl child killed in road accident

A 10-year-old girl was killed when she was hit by a truck in Nayapul of Bandipur. Surta Pariyar of Paluntar, Gorkha was walking on the road side when she was hit by the truck heading towards Anbukhaireni from Dumre on Friday.

She died during treatment at the Medical College Hospital in Bharatpur, according to DSP at the District Police Office Lila Raj Lamichhane. Sumit Pariyar,13, was injured in the incident and is undergoing treatment at the same hospital. The truck driver has been taken into police custody.

Meanwhile, 22 persons injured in a bus accident in Tanahu on Friday are undergoing treatment at the Manipal Hospital in Pokhara. Two persons died in the accident that took place at Krishna motormarga of Ghiring rural municipality of Tanahu.

The deceased have been identified as Muna Thapa,20, of Giring-1 and Nani Maya Gurung,42, of Ghiring-3, DSP Lamichhane said.
